JANUARY

Welcome to the Start of the 2026 Transitions Pdf

GRANN are proudly registered with or members of the following organisations or bodies:

The Changing the Landscape Statement is our way to fight for all LGBTIQA+2SB people whose lives have ended too soon through suicide. We remember their lives, their struggles and forever their place in our communities.

We acknowledge the long history of criminalisation, pathologisation, institutionalisation, forced treatment, exclusion, and silencing experienced by LGBTIQA+2SB people, alongside the Autistic, Neurodivergent and Disabled Community. This includes those harmed by medical, religious, educational, carceral, and social systems. We recognise the grief carried by individuals, families, and communities, and the generations shaped by these injustices.

We also honour the resistance: the protests, the care networks, the quiet acts of survival, and the ongoing fight for dignity, safety, self-determination, and joy. This statement is both remembrance and responsibility. A commitment to listen, to act, and to help change the landscape so that future generations are not asked to survive systems that should have protected them.

GRANN acknowledges the Bailai, Gurang, Gooreng Gooreng and Taribelang Bunda people who are the traditional custodians of the land on which we reside and pay respect to Elders past, present and emerging. We extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island people.

Always Was. Always Will Be.

Sovereignty Was Never Ceded.

GRANN’s Commitment to Being a Child Safe Organisation

At GRANN, children’s safety, wellbeing, and voice are at the centre of everything we do.
We believe every child has the right to feel safe, respected, included, and valued- in every space, every interaction, and every community.

As a Queensland organisation, we are committed to meeting the Child Safe Organisations Act 2024, the 10 National Child Safe Standards, and the Universal Principle, which upholds the cultural rights and safety of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children.

This means we:

- create spaces where children can show up as themselves, without fear, pressure, or judgement

- listen to children and young people, and take their concerns seriously

- prioritise accessibility, neuro-affirming practice, and inclusive communication

- ensure all staff, volunteers, and collaborators are trained and supported to uphold child safety

- maintain strong safeguarding systems, transparent processes, and clear reporting pathways

- actively partner with First Nations communities, families, and children to ensure cultural safety is embedded, not assumed

We see child safety as a living practice- something we revisit, reflect on, and strengthen continuously.

Everyone who interacts with GRANN is part of our shared responsibility to keep children safe.
